Biography :

Home address given as Wigston. Percy Hougham enlisted at Leicester. Played Rugby (as Lance Corporal) for the 2nd Bn in 1908-09. His pre-war service included India. He made 3 appearances for Leicester FC's 1st XV in 1914. Later served in World War One. Posted to 'D' Company 2nd Bn from 31st Reinforcements on 20.10.1915. Promoted to Corporal 2.1.1916. Died of wounds in Mesopotamia 8.1.1916, aged about 26 years. He is commemorated on Basra Memorial, Iraq.
